Glass Cleaning
Vinyl Components Cleaning
Using a soft cloth dampened with a solution of mild dish soap and water can remove most dirt from the vinyl surface. After use, rinse with water to remove soap film. We do not recommend using solvents, abrasives, or pressure washers to clean Window Lounge windows. Use of these products may permanently damage components and void the warranty.
Lubrication
We recommend annual inspection of operating parts (hinges, guide arms, rails and rotor gears) and lubrication with silicone release spray or light engine oil (3-in-1).
IMPORTANT: Do not spray lubricants or oils on the glass surface.
Screen cleaning tip: To clean your screen, first remove it and wash it on a flat surface with a mild soap and water mixture. Rinse, dry and reinstall.
WARNING: Insect screens are not designed to prevent children or other objects from falling through open windows. For additional safety equipment, contact a construction safety supply retailer.
Window Lounge Sliding Windows
Window Lounge horizontal sash windows use only high quality components. The 100% pure, UV-stabilized PVC main frame and wings are fusion welded to ensure a weather-tight seal. They are combined with the highest quality hardware and weatherproof components.
Cleaning and Maintenance
It is imperative that the track insert area that the operating (sliding) sash operates within be cleaned and well lubricated. Cleaning should be done with a mild soap and water mixture. Lubricate this area with a silicone or Teflon spray.
Important note: Do not spray any lubricants or oils on any glass surfaces.
Lock and Keeper Adjustments
Due to normal deformation of the home, the locking mechanism of the sliding window may need to be adjusted. Use a Robertson #2 (square-blade) screwdriver to loosen the two screws that secure the bracket. The bracket can then be repositioned and tested for correct positioning. Tighten the screws again (do not overtighten or you may cause damage).
Sash Removal
The window's control panel can be easily removed. Simply slide the sash into the middle of the window frame, grab the sides of the operating sash and lift it up. The lower part of the wing is now free to pivot out of the frame and into the house. To reinstall the wings, proceed in reverse order.
Condensation Tip: Condensation is moisture on the surface of the glass inside your doors and windows. This is a natural phenomenon that is entirely related to low outdoor temperatures and high indoor humidity. New homes are particularly susceptible to condensation because the materials used in their construction have high moisture content. Additionally, modern new homes are often almost airtight, which limits air exchange.
The best way to combat condensation is to control the humidity in your home. This can be achieved by using ventilation fans at full capacity, ensuring adequate air circulation and ensuring all ventilation connections (especially tumble dryers) are secure. Window Lounge recommends against the use of household humidifiers as they may cause condensation issues. Steel Entry Systems
Window Lounge offers a wide range of door sizes and styles to suit your specific needs. Regardless of the configuration of your entry system, you can rest assured that it is up to the challenges that our harsh environment demands. Industry leading, high quality components and innovative designs make Window Lounge the absolute leader in entrance system technology.
Tough 24-gauge galvanized steel, foam insulated door slabs provide protection against the most extreme weather conditions. An industry leading, energy efficient, thermally broken, self-draining sill system adds to exceptional performance levels. Full perimeter compression weather stripping ensure a tight seal and minimize heat loss.
Maintenance
Window Lounge entry systems are virtually maintenance free. However, there are a few tips that can help ensure peak performance.
Drainage Ports
The aluminum sill of your entry system has a grey drainage area located directly below the door slab, which connects to exterior drainage ports. It is crucial that these drainage areas are unobstructed. This will allow any water to flow away from the interior of your home. These areas should be cleaned of any debris or obstruction on a regular basis.
Striker Plates
Although Window Lounge does not supply or install lockset striker plates, they are an important part of the overall performance of your entry system. These plates need to be positioned so that the door slab firmly contacts the weather stripping on the door frame. Due to normal house deflection, you may be required to reposition these plates to maintain optimal performance. Contact your home builder or lock set supplier for more adjustment details.
Window Lounge Sliding Patio Door
The Window Lounge Series 3000 Patio Door is a sturdy, functional and ascetically pleasing new product. Featuring a 100% pure UV stabilized PVC, thermally broken mainframe. Fusion welded corner joints assure a perfect seal and guard against water infiltration. In addition, proven locking and safety features make the Window Lounge 3000 Sliding Patio door the choice for your families’ comfort and security.
Maintenance
Our doors require little maintenance other than daily cleaning (with mild soap and water, just like our vinyl window frames). The control panel slides on adjustable steel ball bearing tandem rollers. The height of these rollers can be adjusted using a No. 3 Robertson screwdriver. The screen wheel can be adjusted in a similar manner using a Phillips screwdriver. Applying a light lubricant (such as 3-in-1) along the sash and screen rails can make the door easier to operate.
Normal house deflection may require adjustments to the locking and holding mechanisms. The fixing plate is located on the main frame, parallel to the locking handle. Loosen the screws that secure the bracket, reposition as necessary, and then retighten the screws.
Tip: Keep interior sills clean and make sure all exterior drains are clear. Failure to provide adequate drainage may result in water intrusion and possible property damage.
Glass Cleaning
It is normal for glass products to become stained with dirt and debris during construction. Simple solutions are usually enough to clean glass surfaces.
General Cleaning
Mild soap and water or vinegar and water
Use clean, soft, non-abrasive, absorbent cloths
Important note: As noted in the GANA (Glass Association of North America) proper procedures for cleaning architectural glass products bulletin. Never use razor blades or other scrappers on the glass surface. Using razors can cause irreparable damage to the glass surface and scratch glass.
